Development

Assassin's Creed: Freerunners made its debut during the open beta launch of Ubisoft Nano, a platform offering browser-based party games based on Ubisoft's popular franchises. This exciting game was part of the second wave of releases, along with Ubisoft All-Star Blast! and Rabbids: Volcano Panic.

The initial version, titled "v20210326.14.11.Nano," introduced four playable characters at the start: Ysabel Lomelin, Mateo Galan, Aguilar de Nerha, and Edward Kenway. As players progressed and logged in daily, they unlocked iconic characters like Shao Jun, Adéwalé, Alexios, Bayek, Jariya al-Zakiyya, and Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Additionally, the game featured AI opponents, and players collected coins during gameplay without any in-game spending options.

In the subsequent update, "v20210420.18.15.Nano," the game underwent visual enhancements, including improved animations and visual effects (VFX). The radar and locational information related to other runners became more detailed, contributing to a smoother and more immersive experience. This update also addressed various bugs, making the gameplay even more enjoyable.

Gameplay Assassin's Creed:

Freerunners offers a thrilling competitive experience through a side-scrolling autorunning platformer format. As a player, you assume the role of one of the unlocked Assassins and must compete against others on the same course. The objective is to be the first to reach the finish line, leaving your opponents trailing behind.

With only one input available, the gameplay is simple yet challenging. Players can make their Assassin jump by tapping the screen on touch-enabled devices or pressing the space button on computers. The character automatically interacts with obstacles, such as bounce pads created by awnings, crumbling floors that demand quick reflexes, ropes for climbing, and grappling points for dynamic swinging arcs.

Mastery of movement is crucial, as characters can execute double jumps, wall jumps, and take advantage of momentum gained from swinging off grappling points. Perfectly timed jumps and expert maneuvering allow characters to gain speed boosts, enabling them to overtake rival Assassins during the intense race.

While navigating the course, Assassins collect coins adorned with the iconic Assassin insignia. Higher paths offer greater rewards, encouraging players to explore and take risks for the chance of a higher score.

Conclusion:

Assassin's Creed: Freerunners combines heart-pounding action, parkour mastery, and competitive gameplay into a thrilling experience. As you immerse yourself in the Animus and participate in this ultimate freerunning test, remember to use your environment wisely and summon legendary characters from the Assassin's Creed series. So, get ready to initiate the simulation, count down: 3, 2, 1... Run!
